Dear friends,
With the BC Liberal leadership race now behind us, I’ve spent the last week reflecting and connecting… with my family and the many people who helped me along the way these past several months.
I’m grateful for the experiences of the past year. It has been the honour of my life to work with so many talented and dedicated individuals.
I’ve been inspired by the people I’ve met across the province who are willing to participate in the political process, to make our province better for all of us.
Thanks to my team and supporters – many of whom have become like family. Thanks to my fellow candidates who stood for election, and stood-up for what they believe in.
I’d like to congratulate Kevin Falcon, as I have privately. I also commend all the hard work done by Kevin’s team and supporters.
We need BC to be successful. For that to happen we need the BC Liberal Party to be successful.
But for now, I will be taking a step back. I ran my race to renew the party – and I remain committed to the idea that the party must be bold as it moves toward true brand and political renewal.
New actions and behaviors will signal to British Columbians that the BC Liberal party is walking a modern, relevant, and winning path again.
I’m incredibly excited about our province’s future, and I’m committed to help build it.
But first, some snuggles with Carmelo, playground time with Guy, and date-nights with Joy.
Val.
